The Yampa Valley Ceili Society (YVCS) teaches traditional Irish dancing to anybody and everybody who enjoys dancing and having fun. The classes at Northwest Ballet focus primarily on step dancing, and also a little bit of ceili (figure) dancing.

 

Step dancing is danced both in soft and hard shoes. Beginners always learn soft shoe dancing first - hard shoe dancing can be started after a session or two in soft shoes.

 

Our program is affiliated with the Bennett School of Irish Dance, Molly Bennett, TCRG, in Denver. This affiliation allows those who truly "catch the Irish dance fever" to train and become competitive Irish dancers.
